Protein folding
Proteins are biological molecules with an incredibly broad range of functions: From catalysis over transport and storage of metabolites to signaling: proteins are almost everywhere. And all this is just made possible by the smart linear arrangement of 20 different amino acids! The process by which this linear chain (like a spaghetti) arranges itself into a unique 3-dimensional machine is called folding. Yet, protein folding still bears unresolved mysteries we aim to decipher.
